ALDA is seeking mission-driven leaders to join our board and help strengthen governance, expand impact, and support long-term sustainability. Ideal candidates bring strategic thinking, collaborative leadership, and interest in areas such as finance, fundraising,  community engagement, or continuing education.​

​Available Opportunities:

​

ALDA is seeking qualified candidates for the following board positions:

​

President-elect

• Three-year term (moving from president-elect to president to past president)

•  Previous experience as an ALDA officer and/or district president is recommended

• Numerous duties that change each year related to governing and representing ALDA

Delegate

• Three-year term. Able to serve two terms in a row.

• Serves as a member of the House of Delegates and on the ALDA Board

Secretary/ Treasurer

• Two-year term

• Takes meeting minutes during board meetings 

• Signs off on expenses of the Board and gives oversight to total budget

Council on Professional Issues (COPI), Chair-elect and Chair

• Two-year term (moves from chair-elect to chair in second year)

• Advocates for member development and advancement of the profession through the promotion of research, education, and practice.

• Advises ALDA Junior Board

Nominating and Awards Committee Chair

• Three-year term (becomes nominating committee chair in third year)

• Oversees the nomination and election process for ALDA for both awards and board position
