Dietetics Full-time Faculty Member and Program Chair
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Jacksonville State University is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member and program chair for the Didactic Program in Dietetics.
The faculty member/ program chair for Dietetics and Community Nutrition is responsible for instructional work to facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society. This position exists to provide educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening. Instructor may be required to teach courses within his/her concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses, and possible videoconferencing depending on need of location.
This position is for an instructor or tenure-track position in the undergraduate Dietetics and Community Nutrition programs with an anticipated start date of July 5, 2023.
Applicants for this position must possess the following:
· A master’s degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition
· Either demonstrated or presumptive potential for effective teaching and satisfying the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member
· Credit for the minimum number of hours of graduate work required by the accrediting agency in the area of teaching responsibility
· Current, unencumbered Registered Dietician (RD) licensure
· 3 years of experience in a clinical or community setting
· A valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications include the following:
· A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in the area of dietetics, nutrition, or a related field.
· 3 years of teaching in higher education
· Experience working with Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
· Experience in clinical settings
